Terms of service

Last updated October 15, 2026

Draft pending legal review. This page will change before Skybird opens to the public.

The service

Skybird publishes information about fire department calls, derived from public fire department radio and public property records, so people can see what is happening around them.

Accuracy

Calls come from radio traffic that can be incomplete, garbled or later corrected. Addresses, call types, severity and property details may be wrong. Confirm details before you act, and never enter an active emergency scene.

Skybird is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.

Acceptable use

Do not use Skybird to harass anyone, to interfere with emergency work or to go to an active scene.

If you contact property owners, you are responsible for following the law, including do-not-call rules, licensing rules and any limits on soliciting at or near an incident.

Open source

Skybird's code will be published under an open source license. That license, not these terms, governs the code.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Skybird is not liable for missed, late or inaccurate information, or for anything done on the strength of it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
